What a comprehensive Home Water Review covers.

Worth having on its own. Typically 30–45 minutes at your kitchen table.

  1. Your provider's report, decodedWhat your utility measured last year, in plain English.
  2. Four readings at your tapDissolved solids, hardness, chlorine and pH, measured in front of you.
  3. A walk through your homeKitchen, showers, laundry, water heater and any equipment you already own.
  4. Your water spending, added upBottled water, filters, extra soap and what hard water costs your utilities.
  5. A written plan you keepWhat we found, what it means, and your options.

Fair warning: we don't do "good luck."

If we test your water, find scale on your shower head and a garage full of bottled water, we're not going to wish you luck and leave. That's a mechanic telling you your brakes are gone and handing back the keys.

When your home needs improvement, we help you get it done. Not doing that would be a disservice.

  • ManufacturersWe work directly with the companies that make the systems.
  • Licensed contractorsInstallation is done by licensed professionals.
  • Resident support programsManufacturer-sponsored programs that help with the cost of improving your water.

Common questions

Is SafeTap my water utility or a government program?

No. SafeTap California is an independent private company. We are not a utility, government agency or public program.

Are you going to try to sell me something?

If your water needs help, we'll show you how to fix it. Keeping that to ourselves would be strange. Pricing is in writing, financing is separate, and the decision is always yours.

Are you saying my water is unsafe?

No. Safe water and better water are different questions. Your utility's annual report covers safety standards. Hardness, scale, chlorine taste and what you spend are about how your home lives with its water.

Is the screening a lab test?

No. Onsite screening gives basic readings like hardness, chlorine and dissolved solids. For specific contaminants, a certified lab test is the right tool, and we'll tell you when one makes sense.
